Responsibilities

MatterX's Responsibility section allows you to allocate specific responsibility titles to members within a matter. These classifications can provide Responsible Partners visibility of matters they are the owners of and the team members who manage them.

The responsibility classifications are:

  • Team - A group of users assigned as Members to a matter
  • Manager - A Responsible Partner who's the Owner of a matter
  • Assigned - An Acting Partner/Lawyer/Fee Earner who is responsible for the day to day running of a matter
  • Assisting - A Junior Lawyer/Paralegal/Admin Assistant who is assisting on the matter

Members can be assigned to these responsibilities manually field by field or automatically via a Matter Template and during the matter creation process or at a later time.

To allocate responsibility titles to members in a matter

  1. Create a new matter or open an exisiting matter card.

  2. Assign members to the Responsibility section fields at the top of the matter card by selecting the ... on the right-hand-side of each field.

  3. Select a User or User Group listed in the Matter Members pop-up window for each of the Responsibility fields.

  1. If a user if not listed, add a new member to the list by selecting +New.

  2. Select User ID from the table and list of users will be provided. Select the designed user. The Name field will be automatically filled out.

  3. Members from the Responsibility section will be automatically added to the Members section of the matter card.
